Newly appointed ambassador of Germany expresses gratitude to Uzbekistan for assistance in evacuating EU citizens from Kabul

On August 24, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, Tilo Klinner.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, accepting copies of credentials, the minister congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to a responsible post and expressed hope for his active work on further development and strengthening of multifaceted Uzbek-German cooperation.

It was noted at the meeting that at present, relations between Uzbekistan and Germany are dynamically developing in many areas. Mutual interest was expressed in building up constructive interaction in the political and diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, scientific and educational spheres.

The parties also discussed the schedule of upcoming official events at various levels.

“The German side expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by Uzbekistan in organizing the evacuation of foreign citizens and diplomatic personnel from Afghanistan,” the Foreign Ministry said.
