This was stated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in an interview with the New Uzbekistan newspaper.

“From the very first days of my presidency, I warned my team that I do not like loud statements and “beautiful” numbers which have absolutely nothing to do with the real situation. As bitter and unpleasant as it is, I just want to know the correct and truthful information. It helps me to make the right decisions,” the head of state said.

According to the President, not everyone understands this requirement.

“I try to avoid such situations. We have fired many of those who do not understand this truth, and the requirement in this matter will always be tough. This is required by today’s reform processes aimed at ensuring the interests of our people, our Motherland, the future of our society, the happiness of our children. We have no right to act differently,” he said.

The President again warned about the dismissal of leaders and officials who do not understand this requirement.

“The main goal of each of my trips around the country is to find out how people live. This is very important. So in many cases, I have to suddenly change directions during the trip. I think that such unexpected “routes”, which are not recorded in any protocol, teach local leaders to be always in working mode, not to relax,” the head of state said.

However, despite repeated warnings, streets and squares are cleaned before the president’s visit, “lawns” and “flowerbeds” are erected in front of the houses overnight. In general, they “paint the real situation”.

“The thirst for eyewash, torment of people, false and high-flown words has become so ingrained in the blood of some leaders over the years that it has become difficult to get rid of them. But in any case, we must completely put an end to such vices. Because such cases are absolutely alien to the true nature of our truthful people, who absolutely do not accept false words and deeds,” Mirziyoyev noted.

In his opinion, the work of local authorities should not end after the president’s visit, but should start anew, or even increase.

“Only then we will have speed and quality in our work, we will learn to work for a result. Previously, khokims were carefree in between visits. But now they are working hard, consulting with the people, setting clear goals and objectives. Because they know that next time the president will definitely demand a clear result on each issue,” he concluded.
