The press service of the Ministry of Innovative Development reported about it.

Previously, it was reported that vaccination with the second and third doses of the Chinese-Uzbek vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 was suspended due to the need to properly plan the vaccination process.

“But it should be noted that this will not have a negative impact on the mass vaccination process,” the Ministry of Innovative Development emphasized.

According to research and preliminary results of mass vaccination of the general population, the China CDC has authorized an increase in the interval between the first and second doses of vaccine to 2 months, as well as the interval between the second and third doses to 3 months, this practice has already been introduced in China. Currently, 140 million people in China are vaccinated with the ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine on a schedule of 0, 2, 6 months, and the vaccination process continues.

Research on the ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine confirms that the increase in time between the second and third doses creates the basis for the formation of more antibodies and their resistance over a longer period of time, the ministry said.

According to the manufacturers of the ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 vaccine, an increase in the time interval between the second and third doses leads to an increase in neutralizing titers against different strains of coronavirus.

“In addition, due to the fact that a letter was sent to the heads of regional health departments and the Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health Service on the temporary suspension of vaccination with the second and third doses of the Chinese-Uzbek vaccine ZF-UZ-VAC-2001 in Uzbekistan. On social networks there were suggestions that “some side effects were identified”, which are unfounded rumors,” the message reads.

The press service emphasized that “if side effects from the vaccine were found, the Ministry of Health would not allow the population to be vaccinated with the first dose of ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine”.

In addition, 2 million doses of ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine were delivered to Uzbekistan on August 5-6, another 2 million doses will be delivered this month.

“The government is working to establish production in Uzbekistan of two types of vaccines, including ZF-UZ-VAC2001. This work will be completed by the end of August,” the conclusion says.

Previously, the head of the Yekaterinburg State Institution of Science “GNS VB Vektor” of Rospotrebnadzor, Doctor of Biological Sciences Alexander Semenov stated that an increase in the interval between the introduction of the first and second doses of the coronavirus vaccine to 1-1.5 months makes vaccination meaningless, a third or even a fourth vaccination may be required.
