Bakhodir Jalolov wins gold for Uzbekistan

Jalolov defeated Richard Torrez Jr. of the United States on a unanimous decision 5-0 for his first Olympic gold and the third gold for Uzbekistan in Tokyo.

The first round of the fight, which was full of excitement, was held under equal conditions, but the judges gave this round to the American boxer - 2:3.

In the second round, Jalolov increased the pressure on the opponent and launched several dangerous punches, knocking down the opponent, the referee opened the scoring, but Torres said he was ready to continue the fight. This time, all the referees noted the victory of Jalolov - 5:0.

He continued to be active in the decisive round, beating his opponent with strong blows. In the end, the judges unanimously recognized the victory of the Uzbek boxer, and Jalolov won the Olympic gold medal.

On the way to the final, Jalolov defeated Magomed Abdullayev of Azerbaijan, Satish Kumar of India and Frazer Clarke of Great Britain.

This was the fifth medal for the Uzbekistan delegation at the Tokyo Olympics. Taekwondo fighter Ulugbek Rashidov, weightlifter Akbar Djuraev and Bakhodir Jalolov won gold, judoka Davlat Bobonov and freestyle wrestler Bekzod Abdurahmonov bagged bronze medals.
