According to Sherzod Asadov, spokesman for the head of state, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of the ongoing project.
“It will create ample opportunities for the combine to operate efficiently and sustainably for many years due to the rich reserves of raw materials in the foothills of the Kurama Mountains in Tashkent region.
Over the past three years, 475 wells with a total length of 206,000 meters have been drilled in the combine’s fields. More than 100,000 samples of ore from these deposits have been thoroughly studied on the basis of chemical analysis in internationally recognized foreign laboratories.
As a result of such scientific research, according to international estimates, the total reserves of copper here – I ask you to pay special attention to these figures – are 45 million tons, and gold reserves are more than 5,000 tons.
These figures provide a good basis for saying that the world’s largest and rare gold and copper deposits are located in this region.
It was also found that the ore mined here contains silver, molybdenum, selenium, tellurium, rhenium and other rare metals.
By 2030, the demand for copper products is projected to increase by at least 40%. It is safe to say that the international demand for the AMMC products will remain for many years.
Taking this into account, in 2017 we started practical work on the development of the “Yoshlik-1” deposit complex. Over the past 4 years, all the necessary geological surveys and excavations of more than 83 million cubic meters have been completed. And now, at the initial stage, we are starting to build a new third copper concentrator worth $2 billion,” the head of state said.
