From October 1, permission to darken the windows of vehicles will be obtained only from the portal my.gov.uz. There is no news on price reductions yet.

Today, July 28, the government adopted a resolution “On additional measures to improve the use of vehicles with tinted glass”.

From October 1, 2021, the state service for issuing permits to change the color (tinting) of vehicle windows will be provided only through the Single interactive state services portal.

According to the approved administrative regulation, the work on changing the color of the windows (tinting) of vehicles is carried out independently by the owner of the vehicle.

Permission is not required to change the color of the rear window of the vehicle to an unlimited level of light transmittance, as well as to tint the top of the windshield in the form of a strip of no more than 14 cm.

The permit is issued for a period of 1 year. Payment for the permit by the applicant will be made within 10 days. The permit is reissued for the period of validity of the previously issued permit. No fee is charged for the provision of public services for re-issuance of permits through the Single Portal.

On July 14, MP Doniyar Ganiyev, referring to the Interior Ministry, said that a draft resolution on reducing the cost of tinting had been developed.

Currently, the cost of a permit to change the color of the rear side windows (tinting) of cars is set at 5 BCAs – 1,225,000 soums per year for individuals.

The price for tinting both rear and front side windows is 50 BCAs per year – 12,250,000 soums.

In February of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that it was considering the fine reduction for unauthorized tinting. It should be noted that two years ago, the fine for unauthorized tinting of car windows was increased by 25 times (25-40 BCAs).
