Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover up by 13.6%

In January-June 2021, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $18 billion, increasing by $2.1 billion (13.6%) compared to the same period in 2020, the State Statistics Committee said.

During the reporting period, exports amounted to $7 billion (an increase of 12.3% was noted against January-June 2020), and imports - $10.9 billion (an increase of 14.3%).

The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded in May 2021 at $4.2 billion. Compared to the same month in 2020, it increased by $2 billion.

Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover in the second quarter of 2021 reached $10.9 billion, which is 53.5% more than the previous pandemic quarterly indicator.

Among the 20 large partner countries in foreign economic activity, there was an active foreign trade balance with six countries, namely, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Canada and Iran.
