The meeting between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, planned for one hour, lasted almost three hours. This was announced by the presidential spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.

According to him, Afghanistan is going through an important turning point. The parties discussed measures to resolve the conflict by political means to achieve peace in the IRA.
“The countries connecting Central Asia with South Asia are Afghanistan and Pakistan. The leaders of these states, who came to the conference, increased its importance and outcome.
The head of our state held negotiations with them at the Kuksaray Residence. The meeting with the President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani was planned for one hour, but lasted almost three hours. Because you know what the situation is now. Afghanistan today is going through an important turning point. They discussed measures to resolve the conflict by political means to achieve peace. Our President noted that he is ready to actively provide assistance in this direction.
In the afternoon, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, who arrived on an official visit to our country. The main attention was paid to strengthening political communication between the two states, developing trade-economic cooperation, implementing investment projects and large infrastructure projects.
It was noted that there is a possibility of increasing the volume of mutual trade by 4-5 times. An agreement was reached on establishing cargo and air communications, expanding contacts between entrepreneurs and regions, providing bilateral benefits and preferences,” Sherzod Asadov said during the briefing.
