Power outage cases continue in Tashkent

The population of Uzbekistan has been experiencing hot days since the beginning of summer.
For Uzbekistan, which is a sub continental region, the fact that the summer temperature exceeds the climatic norm by 6 degrees poses certain problems in the economic and social spheres.
This situation prompted the government to take certain measures. Residents were advised to stay at home on hot days. In order to avoid problems when using cooling devices in apartments, the government has been tasked with ensuring the sustainable operation of the energy sector, including electricity and natural gas supply systems. However, in almost all regions of the country, including the city of Tashkent, there are complaints from the population that the electricity is constantly going out.
The number of traffic lights’s failure on the streets is increasing. For example, there was traffic jam at the “Shukhrat” intersection in Chilanzar. On July 8, a number of metro stations were disconnected from electricity.
According to observations, on July 1, when the temperature began to rise in the country, all power plants in the country generated 172.7 million kWh of electricity. However, on July 4, when the government commission set a task to prevent the population from being without electricity on hot days, electricity production was reduced. On this day, the country produced 171.9 million kWh of electricity per day.
It is unfortunate that energy problems are becoming commonplace, even for Tashkent.
