The following session of the International Press Club on the vaccination process is underway. Kun.uz correspondent reports.

Participating in the event, the head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and Public Health Service Bakhodir Yusupaliyev informed about the cost of vaccines used in Uzbekistan.

Bakhodir Yusupaliev told about the cost of vaccines currently used and the amount of money spent on coronavirus patients undergoing treatment.

“35 million soms will be allocated from the state budget for the treatment of a moderately ill patient who is currently being treated at the special hospital in Zangiota. Up to 60 million soums will be spent for critically ill patients being treated in intensive care.

Given that the vaccines used today cost between $10 and $60, from an economic point of view, it is cheaper and safer for the state to vaccinate the population. In comparison, not being vaccinated harms not only ourselves, but also the state, the people and the economy,” he said.

According to the head of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Peace and Public Health Service, the coronavirus vaccine produces antibodies against all viral diseases.

“At the end of 2020, we vaccinated people in the social sphere: teachers, medical staff with the flu vaccine. 1 million 200 thousand vaccines were purchased. Our observations showed that there were fewer cases of coronavirus among those vaccinated, and the disease was mild in those infected. Vaccines used against coronavirus today work against the virus: they prevent it and make it easier to transmit,” he said.

It is noted that even if antibodies are present in the human body, the amount of antibodies may decrease over time, so vaccination is advisable.
