The State Statistics Committee has traditionally recorded deflation in June, Spot reports referring to the department’s data.
This means that in June, goods and services fell by 0.2%. In total, they have grown by 4.4% since the beginning of the year.
The decline in prices is largely due to seasonal trends and a massive decline in prices for vegetables and fruits, the committee explained. This was the case in 2019 and in 2020.
Foodstuffs fell in price by 0.9%, non-foodstuffs rose in price by 0.5%, services – by 0.2%.
The Central Bank predicted inflation in the range of 10% for 2021. So far, this is justifying itself.
10% has been the lowest inflation rate since 2017. Prior to that, for decades it was in the range of 3-5%, but these figures raise strong doubts.
