American companies show interest in modernization and reconstruction of Bukhara Oil Refinery

EXIM Bank has already sent a letter of appeal for financing the project in the amount of $184 million.

American companies are interested in the Bukhara Oil Refinery, the “Uzbekneftegaz” press service reports.

The company recently held talks with UOP Limited, a subsidiary of Honeywell and EXIM Bank, the official export credit agency of the United States.

Representatives of the American side “showed interest in supporting the project”, and EXIM sent a letter of appeal for financing the project in the amount of $184 million, the statement said.

The Bukhara Oil Refinery is one of the largest enterprises in the country. Its modernization project is aimed at increasing the processing depth of existing facilities from 79% to 95%, the yield of light oil products from 77% to 91%, and the production of oil products that meet the requirements of the Euro 5 standard.

Earlier, it was reported that South Korean SK E&C would develop a basic project for the modernization of the Bukhara Oil Refinery for $7.2 million, and the modernization of the entire refinery was estimated at about $600 million.
