Uzbekistan to abolish fees for purchase and temporary import of electric vehicles

Deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis have discussed the draft law “On Amendments and Additions to the Tax Code”.
According to the press service of the parliament, the purpose of the bill is to further support entrepreneurship, in particular, to mitigate the negative impact of cases of the coronavirus pandemic on economic sectors and increase the income of the population.
In addition, the document plans to abolish fees for the acquisition or temporary import of electric vehicles.
It should be recalled that on January 13 of this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting on the transformation of the engineering industry noted the need to invest in the production of 50-60 thousand affordable cars and electric vehicles.
