The Special Republican Commission for combatting coronavirus has published a new statement.
According to a Kun.uz correspondent, the decision concerns the celebration of May 9 – Day of Remembrance and Honor.
The commission reminded that, according to the presidential decree of April 20, all mass events to celebrate Memorial Day should be held in accordance with the recommendations of the Special Republican Commission to prepare a program of measures to prevent the entry and spread of a new type of coronavirus in Uzbekistan.
The commission’s decision states that all other activities not mentioned by the special program are prohibited.
Earlier, social media users were planning to hold the event “Immortal Regiment” in Tashkent. However, the khokimiyat of Tashkent reported that not one of the competent organizations to which the organizers of the event applied gave permission to hold a mass event due to the threat of spreading coronavirus.
Local authorities, internal affairs bodies, the National Guard and other relevant departments will oversee the implementation of events.
