The first stage of the construction of the Oksuv-Dehkanabad water pipeline in Kashkadarya has been completed.
In the Dehkanabad district, just over 3.5 percent of the population was provided with drinking water. In 2018, a large-scale project to build the Oksuv-Dekhkanabad water pipeline and the Oksuv water intake facility was launched in the region. 268.4 billion soums were allocated for this project.
The difficulty of implementing the project was that the builders literally had to cut through the mountains to pull pipes to the nearest settlement, which is located almost 80 kilometers away.
After almost 4 years, the builders finally reported on the completion of the first stage of construction. Dozens of guests arrived in Dekhkanabad district on May 4 to get acquainted with its results and try clean drinking water. Among them was the First Deputy Prime Minister Achilboy Ramatov. The participants noted that the builders had to do a tremendous job by laying 78.8 kilometers of water pipes through the mountains, through which 10,800 cubic meters of clean drinking water will be supplied to the settlements daily.
It was also reported that at the moment, in addition to laying water pipes, the construction of two water structures with a volume of 500 cubic meters and a water distribution structure has been completed. Builders have yet to lay pipes up to a hundred settlements, which is about 183 kilometers, as well as 310 kilometers of pipes inside mahallas and villages.
After the full completion of the construction of the Oksuv-Dekhkanabad water pipeline, it is planned that water will reach 116 villages by September, thus, 78 percent or 113 thousand residents of the Dehkanabad district will be supplied with clean drinking water.
