Decision to suspend flights to India can be made only by the Special Republican Commission – Ministry of Transport
There are currently more than 4,000 variants of coronavirus infection worldwide. These include “British”, “African” and “Brazilian” strains. Reportedly, the newly identified “Indian” strain is relatively dangerous and contagious.

In India, the situation with infection remains dire. There have been various reports on social media about the lack of space in hospitals for patients and the shortage of medicines. Due to the high number of deaths, bodies are being burned in the streets en masse. According to the World Health Organization, the “Indian” strain of coronavirus is highly contagious and extremely dangerous due to its resistance to antibodies.
Some countries have suspended flights with India to prevent the entry of the “Indian” strain. Currently, there are flights from Uzbekistan to India. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport Navruz Ashurmatov told Kun.uz that the suspension or resumption of flights with countries classified as “red” zones will be carried out only by the Special Republican Commission.
In turn, the press service of the Health Ministry told Kun.uz correspondent that no cases of infection with the “Indian” strain have been reported in Uzbekistan.
In recent days, India has become a world leader in the incidence of coronavirus cases. On May 4, the daily growth was 355,000, while on April 30, over 400,000 cases were recorded.
According to official figures, more than 222,000 people have died from coronavirus in India.
