On April 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan Imomi Sodik, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.

According to the presidential press service, during the talks, Mirziyoyev noted the current high level of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership, achieved thanks to the political will and decisive steps of the leaders of the two fraternal countries.

“At present, bilateral cooperation covers all areas and continues to develop dynamically, filling with specific content. A high-level visit to Tajikistan is planned in the coming months, and today the governments of the two countries are carefully preparing a new agenda for full-scale interaction in the long term,” the statement says.

At the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded Ambassador Imomi Sodik with an honorary diploma for his great services in strengthening bilateral relations and personal contribution to the development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The diplomat expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the high assessment and all-round support for his activities in the republic. He stressed that in the future he will make every effort to unconditionally implement the goals and objectives to further support fraternal relations between the two countries and peoples.
