Rosselkhoznadzor has lifted the ban on the import of tomatoes and peppers from 17 more Uzbek enterprises located in Fergana, Navoi and Kashkadarya regions.

The decision was made taking into account the information received from the State Plant Quarantine Inspection under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on the absence of the tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) in the products.

“Under the guarantees of the competent department of Uzbekistan, Rosselkhoznadzor lifts the ban on the import of tomatoes and peppers from 17 enterprises located in the Republic. The decision takes effect from April 14,” the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia said in a statement.

Russia banned the import of tomatoes and peppers from Kashkadarya, Fergana and Navoi regions at the end of 2020. After rounds of negotiations, several enterprises were allowed to resume exports in early 2021.
