Turkish Aksa Enerji starts construction of three thermal power plants in Tashkent and Bukhara regions
The Turkish company Aksa Enerji begins the implementation of investment projects to build and operate two thermal power plants with a total capacity of 470 MW in Tashkent region, the Ministry of Energy reports.

Thermal power plants that will use steam-gas and gas-piston technology are being built on 7 hectares of land in the Kibray district to the west of the current Tashkent TPP.
The total cost of projects – $300 million – is fully financed by foreign direct investment. The stations, which are scheduled to begin operation in the fourth quarter of this year, will generate 3.9 billion kilowatts of electricity per year.
Using energy-efficient plants will save up to 550 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.
As part of the project implementation, Aksa Enerji and the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade signed an investment agreement. Also, an agreement on the purchase of electricity was signed with the National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC.
At the same time, Aksa Enerji has launched a project for the construction and operation of a thermal power plant in Bukhara region, which will also use gas-piston plants technology. Within the framework of this project, land surveys are underway to begin the construction of a new TPP with a capacity of 270 MW.
Currently, the construction of these thermal power plants has begun. The construction involves 900 workers, and with the commissioning of the stations, 220 new jobs are expected to be created.
