“845 billion soums were looted from the State Budget” – Deputy Prosecutor General
In Uzbekistan, 845 billion soums out of 10 trillion soums allocated for targeted programs in 2020 were looted. This was announced by Deputy Prosecutor General Akmalkhodja Mavlonov, who spoke at a videoconference chaired by the President.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that despite the measures taken, the number of cases of looting budget funds has not decreased.
“Mavlonov has a big task now, he has to prevent looting,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted Mirziyoyev as saying.
Mavlonov said that an online system of control over the expenditure of funds will be established, and the mass media will be involved in the process.
