Tashkent starts producing mechanical ventilators
An enterprise specializing in the production of mechanical ventilators has been established in Tashkent. The company will produce 500 mechanical ventilators and 200 anesthesia and respiratory devices per year.
The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Innovative Development in cooperation with the companies Shimco Group of Russia and Chirana Asia of Slovakia.
According to official data, the total cost of the project is $6 million, and it is expected to create more than 100 jobs.
It is reported that at the first stage $2 million of investments have been attracted and a workshop for assembling mechanical ventilators has been launched, creating 25 jobs.
Up to 80 percent of production is planned to be exported to Central Asian countries, primarily to Afghanistan.
