Senators approve the law “On Public Procurement”
At the 13th plenary session, senators considered and approved the law “On Public Procurement”.

The purpose of the document is to create an open and transparent, efficient and coherent system aimed at regulating relations in public procurement.
It is noted that the problems with the implementation of the current law “On Public Procurement” caused the need to adopt the new one.
In particular, most of the purchases were carried out without the use of an information and communication system that ensures transparency, and the procurement control system is not up to date.
The law will serve:
- to target budgets and other centralized sources for public procurement;
- to ensure effective use of government-guaranteed loans;
- to harmonize the price-quality indicators in a short time providing necessary goods, work and services to the public sector;
- to achieve a number of significant results, in particular in the fight against corruption.
For information, the current version of the Law “On Public Procurement” was adopted on April 9, 2018.
