The parties positively assessed the progress of the negotiation process on the draft Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (EPCA) between Uzbekistan and the EU.
The schedule, agenda and organizational issues of upcoming joint events, including the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU Cooperation Council, the upcoming round of the EU-Central Asia High-Level Political and Security Dialogue were considered.
The hope was expressed for granting Uzbekistan the status of “GSP +” by the end of March 2021, which will help increase trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU countries.
The parties voiced interest in enhancing close cooperation in the field of education, in particular, through the new Erasmus program.
