Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with Afghanistan shows positive balance

In 2020, foreign trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan reached $776.9 million.
According to the State Statistics Committee, Afghanistan was one of the few countries with which Uzbekistan had a positive foreign trade balance in 2020.
During the reporting period, FTT between the countries reached $776.9 million, with exports amounting to $774.6 million and imports – $2.3 million.
Last year Uzbekistan exported $301.2 million worth of food products and $203.5 million worth of services to Afghanistan. The export of ferrous metals amounted to $54.4 million.
Also, in 2020, Uzbekistan imported from Afghanistan machinery and equipment for $1.2 million, cotton fiber for $529.5 thousand and foodstuffs for $106.0 thousand.
