Uzbekistan’s FTT amounts to $2.3bn in January

Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $2.3 billion in January 2021. Compared to the same period last year, it decreased by $657.6 million (a decrease of 22.2%), follows from the State Statistics Committee date.

Of the total foreign trade turnover, exports amounted to $694.8 million (a 46% decrease was noted compared to January 2020), and imports – $1.6 billion (a 3.9% decrease). As a result, a passive balance of $913.3 million was recorded in FTT.

Among the 20 large partners in foreign economic activity, there is an active foreign trade balance with only six countries: Afghanistan ($58.1 million), Kyrgyzstan ($29.2 million), Tajikistan ($22.4 million), Canada ($16.7 million), Turkmenistan ($10.3 million) and Turkey ($0.4 million).

Today Uzbekistan carries out trade relations with almost 128 countries of the world. The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with the PRC (21%), the Russian Federation (18.7%), Kazakhstan (11.7%), Turkey (9.2%), France (3.5%), the Republic of Korea (3, 2%) and Afghanistan (2.5%).
