According to the press service of the SSS, during the event, two residents of Tashkent were caught red-handed near the Uzbek-Kazakh state border, when they were illegally smuggling firearms from the territory of Kazakhstan.
According to the expert examination, they were transporting a Makarov pistol with 6 cartridges in the magazine.
The weapon was purchased for $4,000 from a resident of Kazakhstan, who transported them across the state border using a drone.
It should be noted that in 2012, one of the detainees was convicted under Article 97 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code. In addition, in 2019, he was found guilty under Article 169 (theft). He was sentenced to three years’ of correctional labor.
The perpetrators have been detained and charged under Article 246.
