Vatican appoints new ambassador to Uzbekistan
According to the official notification of the Holy See press office, Archbishop Giovanni d’Aniello has been appointed new titular of Paestum and apostolic nuncio (ambassador of the Vatican) in Uzbekistan, the Dunyo IA reports.

By the decision of Pope Francis, the 66-year-old diplomat will represent the interests of the Vatican simultaneously in Russia and Uzbekistan.
Previously, the Vatican diplomat served as apostolic nuncio in Brazil, Congo, Cambodia and Thailand, and as apostolic delegate in Laos and Myanmar.
Giovanni d’Aniello succeeded the Italian Archbishop Celestino Migliore, who was appointed apostolic nuncio in France.
