Taking an academic leave to become easier for students
The government has announced the draft state program for 2021, in accordance with which certain restrictions on taking an academic leave for students will be lifted.
In particular, the established limit for taking an academic leave during the study period at a higher education institution will be completely abolished.
According to the draft state program, students who are on an academic leave of absence may continue their studies through distance learning courses or transfer the form of education to part-time, provided that the university has such opportunities.
Students who are unable to continue their education in the traditional form due to taking care of a sick family member will also be able to apply for academic leave.
