“I was told that there are 2,000 people unemployed in Yunusabad. This is nonsense! There are at least 20,000 unemployed in the district.
Now we have appointed a new khokim for the district. Jahongir Ibragimov had worked in the Syrdarya region, as well as the Bektemir district and gained experience.
From now onwards, the khokim should work with the people directly, not sit in the cabinet. He visits mahallas and helps resolve existing problems there. Tax and bank employees also go to the mahallas and announce their plans. They talk to entrepreneurs and help them create new jobs. Those who do their job satisfactorily will continue working, otherwise, we will sack them,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
It is noted that Yunusabad has a population of 362,000. 141 large and medium investment projects worth 14.4 trillion soums have been launched in the district.
The projects are expected to attract about $936 million in foreign direct investment and create about 8,000 new jobs.
In order to attract the unemployed to entrepreneurship, the Employment Promotion Fund will provide a subsidy of 1 billion soums, which will provide employment for 260 people in the district. More than 600 unemployed people will be trained on the basis of referrals from the labor authorities.
