Debt of electricity consumers in Uzbekistan exceeds 3.5 trillion soums
The total amount of debt of consumers in Uzbekistan has reached 3.5 trillion soums, the first deputy board chairman of JSC Regional Electric Networks Jakhongir Obidjonov said.
"The Samarkand region has the largest electricity debt (655 billion soums). This is a cumulative index – the debt of individuals and legal entities combined," he said at a press conference.
As of December 1, the public debt for electricity was 2,340 billion soums, and as of October 1– 2,380 billion soums.
The introduction of a billing system made it possible to reduce debt by 40 billion soums in two months.
