The incident took place on December 15 on the bridge between the Bekabad district of the Tashkent region and Shirin city of the Sirdarya region.

According to the city khokimiyat, the woman was stopped by environmental officers when she tried to throw the children into the canal.

When questioned about motives, the woman answered: “I’m sorry that I gave birth to them. I wanted to drown myself and end my life.”

However, she later refuted her words telling the local officials who visited her house that she “never intended to drown herself and her two children.”

According to preliminary data from the Tashkent region khokimiyat, the woman was angry at her husband, who works in the Shirin City Parks Department. The reason was that he did not answer his phone.

City khokimiyat noted that her husband sometimes interacted with another woman, but they never had family conflicts or quarrels.

Representatives of the tutorship and guardianship authorities are currently studying the above-mentioned incident.
