Uzbekistan increases government’s limit on external borrowing
Uzbekistan has decided to increase the limit on external borrowing of the government for 2020 to $5.5 billion.

As Kun.uz correspondent reports, the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis have considered the issue of making amendments and additions to the law “On the State Budget for 2020”.
It is noted that this year the volume of newly signed agreements on attracting external borrowings on behalf of the government or under the guarantee of the state is projected at $5.5 billion.
Earlier, the limit on external borrowing was set at $4 billion.
“The limit had to be increased due to government spending on the fight against coronavirus,” said one of the MPs.
