The Ministry of Finance has published a review of the state and dynamics of public debt for the III quarter of 2020.
Reportedly, in the first 9 months of this year, the country’s external debt increased by $2.8 billion or 18 percent compared to the beginning of the year, and as of October 1 this year, it amounted to $18.5 billion or 32.8 percent of GDP.
Of which:
- external debt on behalf of the government – $12.7 billion;
- government-guaranteed external debt – $5.8 billion.
The country’s domestic debt, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 23.6 trillion soums ($2.3 billion) or 4.0 percent of GDP.
Of which:
- domestic debt on behalf of the government – 4.7 trillion soums ($0.4 billion);
- government-guaranteed domestic debt – 18.9 trillion soums ($1.9 billion).
