New head of Vaqf Foundation appointed
Today, November 19, Yakhyo Abdurahmanov, imam-khatib of the Sheikh Zayniddin Mosque in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent, has been appointed Board Chairman of the Vaqf Public Charity Foundation.

According to the press service of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, this was announced at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation. The former chair of the organization, Iskandar Khalilov, has been transferred to another job.
Yakhyo Abdurahmanov was born in 1985 in the Syrdarya region. In 1999-2003, he graduated from the Mir Arab madrasah in Bukhara. In 2004-2008, he studied at the Tashkent Islamic Institute. He also underwent a professional development course at Al-Azhar University in Egypt.
From 2004 to 2018, Abdurahmanov worked as a deputy imam, imam-khatib in the mosque Kulol Kurgan located in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent.
Yakhyo Abdurahmanov is currently the chief imam-khatib of the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent, the imam-khatib of the Sheikh Zayniddin mosque, a teacher of Tajweed at the Tashkent Islamic Institute and an independent researcher at the International Islamic Academy.
