Rospotrebnadzor hands over the first mobile clinic to Uzbekistan
On October 27, the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) held a solemn ceremony for the transfer of the first mobile clinic from the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of Rospotrebnadzor, the transfer of the mobile clinic was part of the program of technical assistance to the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia on prevention, control and supervision of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
“By the decision of the Russian government of 2013, UNAIDS, Rospotrebnadzor and “AIDS Infosvyaz” are responsible for the implementation of the program. The purpose of the program is to support the health systems of the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia in ensuring effective control over the spread of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases,” the report states.
The mobile clinic specializes in primary healthcare, as well as providing a range of services related to screening for HIV infection, COVID-19, viral hepatitis, STI, obstetric and gynecological care, cardiology and urology.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia, Botirjon Asadov, thanked the Government of the Russian Federation on behalf of Uzbekistan for its contribution to combating epidemics and improving the quality of life and the wellbeing of citizens.
“Today’s ceremony is part of a series of events organized within the framework of Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the field of healthcare. It is gratifying to note that this mobile clinic is the first such complex in our republic. Thanks to this project, Uzbek citizens living in various regions of the Republic will be able to get timely information about symptoms of infectious diseases, which is more important today than ever before,” said the diplomat.
