A lawyer and blogger, Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiyev, conducted an online survey to identify what people think about starting the academic year in schools. He reported that 24,773 people participated in one day.
It was noted that 50 percent of parents surveyed agreed that schools should resume their activities in September, while 50 percent of respondents objected.
To the question “When schools should reopen?” 48.6 percent of respondents answered “after the pandemic”, 23.7 percent - from September 7, 18.6 percent - from September 14 and 9.1 percent - from October 2.
Fifty-one percent of the parents responding to the survey said they refuse to send their child to school until the pandemic is over, and 48.8 percent said they support the usual start of the academic year.
Most parents agree on the use of masks and antiseptics. 93.6 percent of respondents agreed that their children should wear masks at school and 94.7 percent agreed to use antiseptics.
It was noted that 20.4% of respondents were from Tashkent, 13.2% - from the Tashkent region, 9.2% - from Fergana, 9% - from Kashkadarya, 6.5% - from Samarkand, 6.3% - from Bukhara, 5.9% - from Namangan and 5.6% - from Khorezm.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Public Education is also conducting an online survey in this regard.
Minister Sherzod Shermatov reported that there are three different scenarios for the opening of schools, which are considered the most appropriate.
“Parents must make decisions based on their own opinion and family circumstances. Thus, we will know the situation in every school and region,” Sherzod Shermatov said.
The Ministry encouraged parents to participate actively in an online survey before the start of the academic year. The survey is available via this link.
