Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulates Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Independence Day of Afghanistan
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on the occasion of the national holiday - Independence Day of Afghanistan, the presidential press service said.

Afghanistan celebrates its Independence Day as a national holiday on August 19 to commemorate the Anglo-Afghan Treaty of 1919 and relinquishment from protected state status. The treaty granted a complete neutral relation between Afghanistan and Britain.
Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations with Afghanistan on October 13, 1992 by signing a relevant Protocol in Tashkent.
