Today, July 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a videoconference dedicated to an in-depth critical analysis of the work being done in Uzbekistan to combat the coronavirus infection. It considered the situation with the pandemic in Tashkent and the Tashkent region and measures to stabilize it.
“Almost all specialized medical facilities have been mobilized to treat people with coronavirus infection. As a result, patients with chronic diseases have almost lost qualified medical care,” the head of state said.
Officials have been instructed to take steps to restore the provision of qualified medical care to patients with chronic diseases by relocating coronavirus patients from hospitals specializing in the treatment of chronic diseases to other locations, including private clinics.
“It is very likely that the number of citizens infected with coronavirus continues to rise. In this regard, the task is to increase the number of additional beds for the treatment of patients in the short term, at least two or three times. University dormitories, indoor sports facilities and other large-capacity buildings will be adapted for these purposes,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Efforts will continue to curb the negative effects of the pandemic and increase the responsibility of each leader, to encourage selfless medical personnel.
It was instructed to make proposals for the awarding of a state prize to doctors who risk their lives in hospitals to treat each patient.
