Uzbekistan to launch “Tourism Month for Elderly People” campaign

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision “On additional measures to further improve the system of State support for elderly people”.
It establishes a number of tasks for organizing travels in the country for the elderly.
According to the document, from November 1 to 30 each year, the “Tourism Month for Elderly People” campaign will be organized.
There will be discounts for travelers at tourist infrastructure facilities (accommodation facilities, food points) in the regions, as well as discounts for interregional bus, air and rail tickets.
The elderly will receive discounts of up to 50 percent for visits to cultural heritage sites, museums and theatres, as well as for additional services.
In addition, the local budget will be used to renovate homes for the elderly, as well as to support those in need of care.
