On March 15, a meeting was held at the Cabinet of Ministers to discuss measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan. During the event, it was decided to temporarily suspend the movement of individuals and passenger vehicles through the state border crossing points from March 16, 2020.
According to the State Customs Committee (STC), some citizens, who are engaged in foreign economic activity, are concerned about the fact that the cargo transported by means of export-import procedures will not cross the border.
“It should be particularly noted that these restrictions do not apply to individuals, who deal with auto, air, railway, river freight carriers, their vehicles and foreign commercial cargo,” the STC said.
In the border areas, the persons carrying out these carriages and their vehicles shall be duly checked and then they will be allowed to travel through the country.
It is noted that on these issues, one can call the State Customs Committee hotline at 11-08.
Earlier, Health Minister of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov announced that regional hospitals are ready to combat coronavirus.
