In connection with the decision of the Special Commission on the temporary suspension of all international air, road and railway transportations from March 16, 2020 with foreign countries, it is announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies and consular offices have established operational headquarters to respond quickly to complaints from citizens of Uzbekistan who remain abroad.
Diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan assist compatriots, who remain abroad, in returning home via charter flights. Citizens must be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival.
From March 16, 2020, in connection with the decision not to allow entry of foreign citizens to Uzbekistan, the system of issuing electronic visas, their issuance at diplomatic missions abroad have been ceased.
Diplomatic missions have been tasked with informing foreign partners that the government will take all necessary measures to help foreign citizens depart from Uzbekistan.
At the same time, all festivals and other public events in the diplomatic missions of the republic have been canceled, and all employees are banned from participation in similar events abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan also highlights:
Citizens of Uzbekistan, who are located abroad, are not prohibited from crossing the state border to return home. Restrictions on entry to Uzbekistan from March 16, 2020 are primarily applied to foreign citizens.
At the same time, the temporary travel ban has been introduced for Uzbek citizens and it does not apply to foreign nationals, who are currently residing in the country.
