Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Heads of ministries and departments should personally respond to requests of deputies

Today, January 20, the first post-election meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis was held in Tashkent.
During the event, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted the need to take measures to increase the role of parliament and ensure timely respond to requests of deputies.
“Unfortunately, the deputy’s requests are often answered not by the head of responsible organization himself, but by his deputy or the head of a department. Tell me, where is the authority of the people’s representative, respect for parliament? Such an attitude is absolutely unacceptable,” the head of state said.
In this regard, the president proposed to legislate that the answer to parliamentary and deputy requests should be given personally by the heads of ministries and departments.
The president also emphasized that MPs should set an example for everyone with their conduct, communication culture and ethical rules.
In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to introduce, together with the Academy of State Administration, a new system of continuous training for deputies.
At the end of his speech, the head of state focused on the importance of living up to expectations of the people.
“To be honored with such trust, respect and attention is a great happiness. Each of us in our area of work must, by practical deeds, live up to expectations of our courageous, hardworking and noble people. This is not only our civic duty, but first of all our sacred duty to the motherland,” the president concluded.
