Administrative responsibility to be introduced for interfering with journalistic activities

Amendments will be introduced to the Administrative Responsibility Code of Uzbekistan. A relevant document on this was published for public discussion.
According to the bill, the following amendments will be introduced to the Administrative Responsibility Code, approved by the Law No. XII of September 22, 1994:
Article 197-5 shall be supplemented with the following content:
Article 197-5. Interference and obstruction in journalistic activities.
Interference and obstruction in journalistic activity, forcing a journalist to distribute or refuse to disseminate information, to refuse accreditation or to invalidate accreditation, to violate a journalist’s right to request and receive necessary information, to illegally withdraw materials and necessary equipment entails a fine of two to five times the base calculating amount.
