First international conference of “Umid” graduates kicks off in Tashkent

Today, January 3, the first international conference of the former “Umid” fund graduates kicked off in Tashkent, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

More than 300 “Umid” graduates, including around 120 currently living abroad are attending the conference.

Today’s discussions were held in five sections: democratic renewal of the country, education, improving the investment climate, innovative development and agriculture.

The conference on the topic “Personnel of the new generation for the renewed Uzbekistan” will last for two days. Events of the first day were held at the Academy of Public Administration and tomorrow participants will go to Chimgan.

For information, the former “Umid” Foundation was established in 1997 to support talented young people’s education abroad. During the five years of the Foundation’s activities, 828 promising young people from Uzbekistan have completed undergraduate and graduate education at universities in the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Canada and Italy.

The conference is being organized by the Agency for Civil Services Development under the President of Uzbekistan and the “El-yurt umidi” Foundation.
