University applicants to take exams from five different subjects in the coming academic year

Starting from the new academic year, when taking entrance exams for state universities, applicants will have to sit exams from five different subjects. The total number of test questions will be 105, not 90 as it is now.

The State Commission for Admission to Educational Institutions has approved the list of subjects of entrance exams for undergraduate programs, the number of test assignments and assessment criteria. This was announced by the head of the Test Technologies Development Department of the State Testing Center (TTDD STC) Sevara Zuparkhodjayeva during an interview with Kun.uz. 

In the 2020-2021 academic year, during entrance exams, applicants will have to answer 105 test questions on 5 subjects. The maximum possible score is 280.5.

For all entrants, who take the tests, the following subjects are mandatory:

1. Native language (Uzbek, Russian or Karakalpak);
2. Mathematics;
3. The history of Uzbekistan.

Moreover, each subject consists of 15 questions, 2.1 points will be granted for each correct answer. The maximum score for one subject is 31.5. The maximum possible score for the mandatory block of subjects - 94.5.

In addition, there are two extra (special) subjects. 30 questions on each of them must be answered. For each correct answer 3.1 point is granted. The maximum score an applicant can earn here is 186.

Approbation of test items on mandatory subjects was conducted on October 22-30, 2019 with the participation of graduates of academic lyceums and schools of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan, Tashkent regions and the city of Tashkent.

In addition, an applicant, who wants to try himself in the new format, can get test samples online on the official website of the STC.
