LoongAir plans to launch regular flights from Chengdu and Hangzhou cities of China to Uzbekistan

On December 11, presentation of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and B2B meetings were held in Xi’an, China. The delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by the acting Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Abdulaziz Akkulov, the president of Chinese airline LoongAir Liu Yi, and also representatives of tourism business attended the event. 

“I would like to express my special gratitude to the LoongAir airline for the efforts undertaken to develop our two-way partnership. The cooperation, which we have established is in line with the policy of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has been successful in promoting tourism in the country and liberalizing the aviation market. From January 1, 2020, Uzbekistan is introducing a visa-free regime for citizens of China. It serves us to launch new flights and to enhance our cooperation. We are interested in mutually beneficial cooperation and will increase the number of tourists not only to Uzbekistan, but also to China,” Abdulaziz Akkulov said, while opening the event.

In turn, the president of LoongAir Liu Yi noted Uzbekistan’s high tourism potential, and said that the airline plans to launch regular flights from Chengdu and Hangzhou to Uzbekistan soon.

It is reported that the number of flights between Uzbekistan and China will increase from 9 to 15 in 2020. 

In addition, as part of the presentation, special attention was paid to the ancient cities of Uzbekistan – Samarkand, Tashkent, Bukhara, Khiva and Shakhrisabz.

After that, B2B meetings were held between the tourist organizations from Uzbekistan and representatives of the tourist business in Xi’an. The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries to increase the tourist flow.
