Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020”.
In one of the appendices of the law, forecasts of revenues and expenditures of the budget of Karakalpakstan, local budgets of the regions and the city of Tashkent for 2020 are published.
As it can be seen from the table (presented in Russian), in almost all regions of Uzbekistan, expenses exceed revenues. In particular, there is a kind of “budget deficit” in Andijan, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, Fergana and Khorezm regions.
Only in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Navoi and Tashkent regions expenditures do not exceed revenues. A similar situation is recorded in the city of Tashkent.
Thus, regions with low profit need extra money. In the above law, the President also approved the amount of equalizing inter-budget transfers, allocated from the republican budget to local budgets of the regions. The list of recipients of grants includes 9 regions.
Namangan region will receive the largest amount of support – 977.7 billion soums. It is followed by Surkhandarya (839.1 billion) and Kashkadarya (758.1 billion) regions. The smallest amount will be allocated to Fergana (351.9 billion), Syrdarya (343.9 billion) and Samarkand (321.8) regions.
