The fare on Tashkent-Samarkand toll road, the construction of which was supposed to begin in the 4th quarter of this year, turned out to be too expensive. This was announced at the Senate plenary session by Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiyev.
āNegotiations are underway on the construction of Tashkent-Samarkand toll road. But the company is asking for a very large fare. This does not suit us at all. A similar project is under consideration now,ā Ganiyev said, answering a question from senator Sharifjon Yuldashev.
This road was supposed to be the first toll road in Uzbekistan. This year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree, according to which the road should have been commissioned at the end of 2021.
It is also known that a consortium of Turkish companies acts as a private partner in the project.
