“Damage from the gas theft over the week amounted to $2.9 million” – Prosecutor General

On November 28, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov held a video-conference meeting on the issues of providing the population with electricity and natural gas.
According to Kun.uz source, during the event prosecutor general Nigmatilla Yuldashev delivered a speech. He said that the illegal use of electricity and gas in large amounts creates a certain problem for the population.
“During the week, 41 cases of theft of natural gas worth 28 billion soums were recorded. 240 criminal cases were instituted on these facts,” Nigmatilla Yuldashev said.
It should be recalled that at the meeting, Abdulla Aripov severely criticized officials for their mistakes. The PM said that with the start of the first cold weather, many regions were already left without any electricity and gas.
