Russian travelers spent $250 million in Uzbekistan over 10 months of this year, which is $50 million more than in the same period last year. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the State Committee for Tourism.
The number of Russians visiting the country in 2019 grew by around 25 percent, exceeding 393,000 people, the press service of the department said.
“The Russian market is one of the main and priority directions for promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan,” the deputy head of the department for international relations and the protocol of the state committee Feruz Dodiyev noted.
According to him, “the region’s popularity among Russian travelers is actively growing, and we are doing everything possible to make our guests come and feel at home”.
